About the Communicable Diseases Agency
Prepare, Prevent, and Protect
The Communicable Diseases Agency (CDA), established in April 2025, is a statutory board under the Ministry of Health. CDA is Singapore's public health authority for communicable diseases, with a mission to protect Singapore from infectious diseases through excellence in public health expertise and capabilities.
CDA's formation marks a pivotal step in Singapore's forward-looking approach to public health — consolidating command, control, and coordination of public health responses under one dedicated agency. This strategic integration strengthens our nation's infectious disease management and preparedness capabilities, enabling rapid responses to outbreaks and robust readiness for future pandemics.
To achieve our vision for a Singapore that is resilient against communicable disease challenges, CDA’s capabilities encompass comprehensive policy development and implementation; integrated disease epidemiology, surveillance, and investigation; proactive outbreak preparedness and response; collaborative research and partnerships; and advanced laboratory capabilities.
Recognising that everyone has a part to play in Singapore’s collective preparedness, CDA empowers individuals through targeted public education initiatives. Beyond our shores, CDA also works with international partners to enable Singapore to respond swiftly to evolving global health threats.
