The SHHSC is the inaugural flagship event presented by the HIV, Hepatitis and STI (HHS) division under the Communicable Diseases Agency. It is dedicated to advancing innovative approaches and highlighting the latest developments in HHS management.
SHHSC 2026 will convene international keynote speakers, community programme showcases, and innovative research presentations delivered through both oral and poster presentations.
The theme for this year’s SHHSC is Charting the Path Forward: New Beginnings Through Collaboration, which reflects the congress’s focus on shaping the future of HHS management driven by new scientific advances, innovative programmes, and fresh partnerships.

Professor Eric Chow

Director, The Australian Society for Medical Research
Professor Eric Chow is an STI epidemiologist based at the Melbourne Sexual Health Centre and Monash University. He heads the Health Data Management and Biostatistics Unit and co-leads the HIV/STI Clinical Trials Unit. His research focuses on improving the prevention, diagnosis, and control of STIs, with particular interests in male HPV vaccination, gonorrhoea transmission dynamics, doxycycline post-exposure prophylaxis (doxyPEP) and the application of digital and AI tools in sexual health.
Eric has published over 450 peer-reviewed papers, informs national and international policy. He has recently completed the DoxyAWARE study in Australia and is currently leading the DoxyAsia study across 16 countries/regions in Asia. Together, these studies examine awareness, uptake, safety, and clinical practices related to doxyPEP across diverse healthcare settings.
He is also leading an international study evaluating AI-assisted decision support for the diagnosis of anogenital skin conditions. He was named Australia’s top researcher in the field of Sex & Sexuality (2024). He is President of the International Society for Sexually Transmitted Diseases Research (ISSTDR) and serves on the executive board of the Australasian Sexual and Reproductive Health Alliance (ASRHA).

Associate Professor Raja Iskandar Shah Raja Azwa

Associate Professor Raja Iskandar Shah Raja Azwa is an Associate Professor of Infectious Diseases and is the Clinical Lead for the HIV service in the Infectious Diseases Unit, Faculty of Medicine, University of Malaya, Kuala Lumpur. He is also the Director of the Centre of Excellence for Research in Infectious Diseases & AIDS (CERIA), Faculty of Medicine, Universiti Malaya.
His research interests include HIV Pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) implementation research and stigma reduction interventions among key populations and evaluation of novel second line HIV treatment strategies in resource-limited settings. He is the site Principal Investigator (PI) for several international collaborative HIV clinical trials which have shaped HIV guidelines locally and globally. Much of his recent work has focused on increasing community access to HIV prevention biomedical interventions and implementation of differentiated service delivery models of HIV care & prevention including m-health and pharmacy-led service delivery models. He has been a member of several WHO Guidelines development groups on HIV treatment and prevention since 2020.
Iskandar Azwa also serves as the current President of the Malaysian AIDS Council.

The SHHSC 2026 secretariat invites abstract submissions that advance clinical practice, public health policy, and community responses related to HIV, Hepatitis, and STIs.

Abstracts can only be submitted electronically through this FormSG portal. All abstracts must be received by 10 Mar 2026.
Upon successful submission, authors will receive an automated acknowledgement via email.
Lack of acknowledgement email will indicate that the abstract was not received. You may contact us via email at shhsc@cda.gov.sg if there's any issues.
Accepted abstracts may be allocated to one of the following:
Oral presentations; or
Poster presentations.
Presentation format is determined based on the Scientific Committee’s assessment.
Important notes:
Abstracts previously submitted to other platforms are welcome.
Abstracts that target local or international populations/programmes are welcome.
Submission implies consent for abstract publication in congress materials.
At least one author must register for SHHSC 2026 to present if the abstract is accepted.
The SHHSC secretariat will contact the authors of the accepted submission by 26 March 2026.
Submitting an abstract confirms your participation in the SHHSC event on 23 May 2026. You will not be required to submit the registration form separately when registration opens (Co-authors are not included and will still be required to register).
